Click & Collect service is now available for books from the MTU Kerry North Campus. This service in available to all registered students and staff of MTU Kerry. Borrowed books can be collected and returned from the North and South Campus. How to use this service is outlined below and if you wish to proceed, begin by searching thelibrary catalogueand when you have located the item you need, click on "place hold" and enter you login details. You will receive an email when the item(s) is ready for collection. Please see Tutorial on Click & Collect video below for more details.
1. Borrowing limits
Borrowing and hold limits
Undergraduates can borrow up to 7 general lending items for 2 weeks. These are automatically renewed three times unless requested by another patron.
Postgraduates can borrow 8 general lending items items for 4 weeks. These are automatically renewed three times unless requested by another patron.
Staff can borrow 15 general lending items items for 4 weeks. These are automatically renewed three times unless requested by another patron.
2. Searching the Library Catalogue and placing a hold
To place a hold you need to search the library catalogue. Only general lending items from the North Campus Main and North Campus Ground Floor Main collections that are available for lending can be borrowed.
When you find the title you need, you can place a hold on items that are available or checked out, but be aware that books that are currently checked out may not be be returned on time so you may need to look for an alternative if it is urgent. To place a hold on the item, click on the hold button and fill in the following;
You will be asked for your T-number and password,
Which campus library you want to pick up the book from. Select North Campus or South Campus depending on where you wish to collect the item..
A date after which your hold will be cancelled.
Alternatively you can ring the library desk on 066-7191700 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org to place a hold.
3. Items ready for collection
When the books are ready, you will receive an email notifying you where and when you can collect them. Books will be placed in a paper bag with your tnumber to identify them.
Books for collection will be left on the Click and Collection desk beside the book drop bin outside the library doors and can be collected while the campus is open.

4. How do I return items?
You can return items to the Book Return Bin inside the North Campus Library or South Campus Reading Room.
