Guide to using Multisearch: About Multisearch

About Multisearch

MultiSearch is MTU Kerry Library's’ name for the Summon™ discovery service, from ProQuest.  It is a kind of powerful, Google-like search engine for research materials.  It  allows you to search the library catalogue and most (but not all) of the library's online collections at the same time to find relevant information on any topic. Visit our A-Z of Online Resources page to find out which resources MultiSearch searches. This brief guide will give you the information you need to begin using Multisearch.  Remember, if you need help, ask a Librarian!

Why use Multisearch?

Unlike Google, Multisearch contains only high quality, scholarly information already checked by experts for accuracy, authority and bias - so you know you can rely on it for your assignments and research.

 Use Multisearch to discover:

  • print books and ebooks
  • full-text online journal articles
  • conference proceedings
  • theses and dissertations
  • video and audio recordings
  • images
  • maps and more
