Open Access Publishing Agreements
MTU has transformative agreements with the publishers listed on the left of this page. These agreements allow MTU corresponding authors to have articles made open access immediately with the publisher without payment of a further Article Processing Charge (APC).
What are transformative agreements?
Transformative agreements (also referred to as Publish and Read Deals) are agreements established with a publisher or publishers and represents a move away from subscription based reading to open access publishing. In Ireland, transformative agreements are negotiated by IReL (consortium of Irish Research Libraries). IReL provides participating member institutions with access to a wide range of licensed e-resources and open access publishing agreements.
How can MTU authors avail of these agreements?
In order to be eligible, the corresponding author must be a current MTU staff member or registered MTU student at the time an article is accepted for publication (not the date it was submitted). The corresponding author is the person responsible for manuscript submission and communication during the publication process.
When submitting papers for approval, MTU corresponding authors should:
identify their home institution as ‘Munster Technological University'
