Clearing your browser cache and cookies

Problems accessing the library's online resources are often fixed by clearing your cache and cookies

Get started

When you visit an online resource or website your browser automatically downloads and stores information about the resource or website.  This information is stored in files containing cookies and cached images.  These temporary files help the browser load the resource or website faster next time you visit it,  or provide information for personalised marketing.  Problems accessing the library’s online resources are often caused by your browser relying on out-of-date information from these files.  Clearing the cache and cookies usually fixes problems caused by these files.

When you clear your cache and cookies, some site settings get deleted - for example, if you were signed into a resource you will need to sign in again.

You should always close and reopen your browser once you have cleared your cache and cookies.
