Guide to using APA PsychArticles

EBSCOhost Advanced search

With Advanced Search you can easily build a more complex search.   Advanced Search is the default screen at Munster Technological University.

1. Click in the first text box and enter your first keyword.

2. Limit your search by selecting a specific field from the drop‐down menu next to the text box.  Hint: Try using Abstract or Author-Supplied Abstract to begin with and then use other options to narrow or broaden your search if you are not getting the results you expect.

3. Add more keywords to your search query.  Use AND, OR or NOT to connect your search terms.

4. Use the arrows to the right of the search query boxes to add, delete or move search terms.

5. Select a Search mode. Click on the question mark icon to find out how they work. If you want you can use search options such as Apply related words to broaden your search.

6. You can also choose Limiters for your search, for example you may only want results with full text or peer reviewed articles or published in a specific date range.

7. Click the Search button.

A list of search results matching your search query will display.
