When you perform a search in Emerald Insight, the database returns a list of results that match your search terms. Your search results page contains information about each item listed as well as tools to help you find the most useful results.
1. The database searched for leadership AND education AND mathematics.
2. The search returned 15410 results.
3. By default, the results will be sorted in order of relevance. Click the arrow to the right of Relevancy to see other options for sorting your results.
4. The Filter menu under Update Search lets you limit your search results. Click the arrow to see all the options.
Click on a filter to select it. Then click the Update button to activate the filters.
Any filters you apply will show beside Filter.
5. There are several other options for limiting your search, including:
To apply a date range filter, under Update Search, scroll to the bottom of the page, select a start and end date, then click the Apply button.
6. Item titles are displayed in larger print.
7. The content type is indicated above the title for each item.
8. Each item's availability is indicated by an icon to the right of that item.
9. The authors of each item are listed below the title information. Click on an author's name link to see more publications by that author.
10. The source for each item is also shown. Click on a source name link to go to the home page for that source.
11. Publication details are shown for each item.
12. DOI links are provided, when available.
13. Click on the Abstract button arrow to open and read a summary about an item to quickly see if it is useful.
14. If the full text of an item is available, you will see View article and/or PDF buttons below the item.
Detailed Record
Click on an item's title link to open a Detailed Record for that item.
1. Jump to a specific place in the text.
2. View latest, most read and most cited articles on the topic.
3. Use the tools to view, share or cite the item.
The Split view tool (journal articles only) opens a second pane, allowing you to see figures and other data for the item alongside the text.
4. See how many times the item has been viewed or downloaded.
