Advanced Search lets you easily build a more complex search. Advanced Search is set as the default search screen by Munster Technological Library.
To create an Advanced search:
1. Enter one or more keywords describing the same concept in the first search box. Connect multiple keywords for the same concept with OR.
2. Choose where in the records to search (for example, search in only the Title or Abstract)
3. Add keywords for your 2nd concept in the second search box. Choose where to search. Connect the first and second search boxes using the Boolean Operator AND.
4. You can add keywords for a third concept in the third search box.
5. To add or remove search box rows click on Add row or Delete row below the Advanced Search box. We recommend searching for between two and four concepts (rows) in a single search.
7. You can apply limiters to your search by clicking on Filters (for example you may only want to find items available in full-text).
Note: Any filters used when doing a Basic Search will automatically be carried over to the Advanced Search page.
8. To limit your search to a custom date range, select Custom range and click the fields to select start and end dates from the date picker.
9. Click the Search button.
It may take a few seconds for your search to run. When it is finished, the results list will display.
