Guide to using ACM Digital Library

Your Results List

When you perform a search in ACM Digital Library the database returns a list of results that match your search terms. 

1. Your search for "artifical intelligence" AND animation returned 14,654 results.

2. You can use the filters to limit your results by people, publications, conferences etc.  The options here may vary depending on your search.

3. Results are sorted by Relevance, but you can  choose to sort your results by recency (oldest, newest), times downloaded or times cited instead.

4. You can also change the number of results that display per page from 20 (default) to 10 or 50.

5. If an article is Open Access, you will see that indicated here.

6. Click the Highlights down arrow to see an abstract of the article and keywords (useful for new searches) for an article.

7. Click the blue e-reader icon to read the full-text of an article online. 

8. Click the blue HTML icon, to view the full text of an article online.  Best for screen readers.

9. Click the red PDF icon to read, download or print the full-text of an article.

10. Click on an author name to go to the home page and view more information/publications by that author.

11. Click on an article's title link to see more information, including references.

12. Click on the folder item to add an article to your folder (log in to your personal ACM Digital Library account needed).

13. Click on the Citation icon to export select/all results to Endnote.

14. Click on the purple metrics icon to find out how many times an article has been viewed, downloaded or cited.

 

Article Citation Page

Clicking on the title link of a search result will open the citation page for that result.

1. Use the linked menu on the left of the page to navigate to individual sections of an article, including references, index terms and     recommendations.

2. Use the tool menu to see more information, metrics, viewing options, references, images, graphs and find/share a permanent link to the article.

3. Click on a publication title to go to the home page for that publication.

4. Click on an author link to go to the home page for that author.
