Guide to using IEEE Xplore

Citation search

Citation searching is useful for quickly finding a specific article that your lecturer has recommended or that you have come across on a reference list.

For example:

K. Asano, S. Okada and N. Iwamam, "Vibration suppression of induction-motor-driven hybrid vehicle using wheel torque observer," in IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, vol. 28, no. 2, pp. 441-447, March-April 1992, doi: 10.1109/28.126754.

To look for a journal article:

  1. Click on Advanced Search below the Basic Search box
  2. Click on the Citation Search tab
  3. Enter the information from the citation into the relevant boxes
  4. Click Search

IEEE will find the article you are looking for

3. Look for the green open padlock icon that indicates full text access. If a locked padlock icon is displayed, it means that the article is NOT available in Full Text within this database.
